Latest Updates from Our Project:

Funded Day One! New Add-On + Behind the Scenes!

Hello! We had one hell (pun intended) of a first day, and shot past our funding goal! In fact, we had more day one backers than any Unicorn: Vampire Hunter campaign has ever had before. That's great news!

To celebrate, I'm updating the campaign to include a new add-on. A few years ago when we ran the Kickstarter for issues #4 and #5, we created a "Collector's Box" for the series. This was a super high quality box designed to fit the first five issues of Unicorn: Vampire Hunter. It had a magnetically sealing latch and silver and red foil design elements. It was designed by Dave Lentz, with artwork by Jeremy Treece. Take a look:

These boxes were a hit. I loved them, the backers loved them. In fact, I ended up going on to make a similar box for Dragon Grit, which has also been very popular. They are a super pricey item to produce, but I think they really bring something special to the campaigns.

Here's the thing: I have exactly 16 of these boxes left. Once they are gone, I won't be printing them again. I might do a new U:VH box with different art, but these particular boxes won't be getting re-printed.

So, I'm making them available as an add-on at a steeply discounted price. Like, just barely covers my cost price. These boxes cost me $50 a piece to print, and I'm offering them here for $60. Once they are gone, they are gone. As of this update they are live - if you'd like one, make sure to edit your pledge to grab it!

A Look Behind the Scenes

Here's a look at some of the sketches Daryl did to prepare for this issue. Specifically, we are looking at the designs for the "hell-a-vator" (which you'll learn more about in this issue). Note that these were early sketches and don't necessarily represent the final version that appears in the comic.

Designing new elements of the world of Unicorn: Vampire Hunter with Daryl is always an absolute joy. It is hard to ask for a more creative, engaged, and enthusiastic artistic partner. Every time he sends me new sketches or pages I totally geek out - it never stops being fun.

That's all I've got for today. On my next update I'll post our STRETCH GOALS, which I am very excited to unveil.
